TESTIMONIALS
Green Issues

"Together with a group of friends I am trying to be as ethically aware ("green") as possible, trying to avoid environmentally unfriendly products, such as salt blocks that have been flown thousands of miles, etc. It was Himalayan rock salt that has set a few people thinking. There is an argument that, because it is so hard, it doesn't just melt in the field. But then I find my Rockie lick doesn't either... Actually, I'm in a salty part of the country, too, not far from Maldon in Essex. I was previously in Bucks, though, and used your licks then as well as now. I have been using the Rockie salt lick in the field for 4 years now. My own 3 horses and others they have been with in that time have all chosen to use the salt lick on a regular basis, but especially in the warmer months. One of the things I love about the Rockie licks is that they last for a long time in the field, almost regardless of the weather. This means that my horses can have access to the minerals they need, as and when they feel they need them without me worrying about having to replace them all the time. In addition to the physical benefits of providing minerals and trace elements, I also feel a secondary benefit to a field lick is that it gives a little variety to the horses daily feeding habits. I tend to move mine to different places from time to time so that the horses have to seek them out, which can help break the boredom of being in the same field. I would definitely recommend Rockie licks to other horse owners."

Rockies – What are they?
Renowned the world over for their hardness and weather resistance, the name Rockies means quality and cost effectiveness.

All animals need salt. Rockies provide not only salt, but also trace elements, sometimes minerals and vitamins, for different classes of stock on every type of diet; from all forage to high concentrate, there’s a Rockie in the range to suit your stock and farm.

Available in 10kg, 5kg or 2kg sizes, Rockies can be used in fields, yards or troughs. There’s the hole in 10kg and 5kg Rockies for hanging from posts and rails. The 2kg size has a specially designed holder for smaller pens and stables.

Rockies are the hardest mineral licks you can buy, which mean they save you money by resisting all weather conditions. Rockies will last longer.

Why use Rockies?
Because Rockies are an ideal carrier for trace minerals and all animals need salt. When cattle, horses, sheep and other animals are on pasture with little, none or varying amounts of concentrate, farmers can always supply trace elements from the wide choice of Rockies.

The versatility of ‘agricultural’ Rockies!
The uniqueness is that a single Rockie weighs only 10kgs so anyone on your farm can carry it easily. The special hole allows you to choose where you want it to go – in the field, trough or on the fence. Wherever, Rockies are ideally suited to your needs.

How cost effective are Rockies?
With Rockies, there is no need to check daily consumption. Their inbuilt palatability will let your stock regulate the amount they need. You can calculate that sheep and goats will take 5/10 grammes per day. The maximum cost is less than 2 pence per day, for the assurance of knowing they are receiving essential trace elements and minerals.
